About Armenianz
What's Armenianz?
Armenianz is a website dedicated to Armenian news, analysis of events involving Armenia, and issues related to Armenians around the world.
Armenianz is for everyone. The topics we cover are diverse, accessible and relevant to all of us. Everyone is welcome.
Armenianz is a project that we hope will bring new life to the Armenian landscape.
If you want to know how it came to be, read on.
Why this project?
Armenian media are often criticized for their lack of objectivity. In Armenia, 30 years of post-Soviet corruption have almost destroyed journalism.
In the diaspora, the media are too often extensions of parties or organizations, and give a biased view on most issues. It is becoming more and more difficult to get information without encounterint pro-this or anti-that rants.
Another, more insidious problem is the lack of accessibility of content. Most publications sound like official statements. Armenianz wishes to address this by offering truly accessible content, in line with the current century.
Who are we?
Our team is made up of people from several countries. This diversity of backgrounds is important to us. It is what makes our culture so rich.
Our media is apolitical. We are not funded or run by any party. Anyone who joins us must not be a member of any political organization. We believe it to be the guarantee of our independence and objectivity.
We will make sure to clearly distinguish between what is factual and what is our opinion, whatever it may be.
What do we offer?
We want to introduce you to Armenian culture, to people and causes that we believe are worthy of interest. Our community is full of treasures that should not be left in the dark.
We also want to present and discuss issues of concern to Armenians. The events of the last few years, namely a democratic revolution, but also the terrible armed conflict that followed on the borders, have created a lot of issues we need to examine and try to solve.
But what we want most of all is your trust. And we will do our best to earn it.
Wishing you all a very good reading experience.
